1) Our first club meeting of the year will be on Monday, January 12, 2026. This meeting will begin with a Peer Review on “Minimalism.” You may submit One image on a USB on that theme to Bill Wanner by 6:45 the night of the meeting. Let’s share our minimalist images!
Examples of “Light Up Your World,” the Slideshow for the February meeting, will be shown to you by Sheryl Parry.
Michael St. Laurent will be dazzling us with his Presentation on “The Electric Sky.” You will not want to miss this evening!
2) LAST CALL FOR RIB NIGHT TICKETS! They must be ordered prior to the night of the meeting, but can be picked up at the meeting. We hope everyone steps up like last year and sells enough tickets so we will not have to take on any other large fundraising projects for this year. The Rib Night is on Thursday, January 15, 2026. You may order your tickets from our Treasurer, Rachel Petroschuk, and she will have the tickets for you at our meeting. Her number is 306-693-0159 – leave a message if she does not answer and she will get back to you asap. Remember, GF and take-out are available. The meal is really fabulous! Hope to see you all there!
3) Our MJCC Lens Coffee Mugs are for sale at $20 each. These are the perfect unique gifts for anyone you know who loves taking pictures – including yourself! Our Membership Chair, Georgina Gadd, will have them available at the meeting, or text/call her at 306-630-7835.
4) You can also still get the Bird Seed Wreaths. Again, they make great gifts for bird lovers and for keeping birds in your yard through the winter! They are $25 each or two for $45. They must be pre-ordered by calling Melina Shepley at 306-692-7867.
5) Think about volunteering for judging Peer Review! We have three more Peer Review sessions this season. People might like to hear from someone new. You do not have to be a “judge” for this! Peer Review is simply sharing what you think about an image and what you really like about it or what you might suggest as an improvement. You may find one of our topics is something you know a lot about – that is the time to offer to share your knowledge! If you are interested in this, call Betty Calvert at 306-371-5220.
6) A reminder: The Cosmo Centre has asked us to lock the front door during our meetings. If you happen to arrive late and the door is locked, phone Rachel Petroschuk at 306-631-3371 and she will let you in.
7) Your Executive extends wishes to you for the best ever New Year in 2026!!!
See you on the 12th!
