May Meeting

Hi Everyone!

1)      Just a reminder of the next Camera Club meeting on May 1st.

-          This meeting will start with our usual quick business and then a Critique. The category will be Portraiture. We will follow the same format as at the last Critique. Members may submit ONE Jpeg image on a USB stick to Rob by 6:45 the night of the meeting.

-          We will then have a Workshop on Creative Floral Photography led by Rob Harden. This will be a great workshop with learning how to do impressive, professional type floral photography!

2)      The May Outing.

-          The event planned for this Outing is the Justinesane Barbie Car Races. We are still waiting for the organizers to schedule the date and will let you know when that is just as soon as they announce the date.

3)      Some notes for going forward:

-          Our June Meeting will start with a Slideshow. Topics can be Night Photography, Floral Photography, Barbie Car Races or Open. Members may submit a maximum of TWO Jpg images on a USB to Rob Harden by 6:45 the night of the meeting. We know we are going to see some great stuff here! Also, remember, you may choose instead to submit prints or images that have received special recognition or awards for display.

-          Our June Meeting will include a very short AGM. This is when we vote on our new Executive for the next season. We are looking for new members to join the Executive. If you have any thoughts that you might be interested in volunteering for this, we will happily welcome you to the group. The present members have been a great team of energetic people we know you would love to work with! Please talk to any Executive member at the May club meeting if you have any questions or any interest in joining our team!

-          Also, at the June meeting, we will have our Year End Club Photography Competition. The topic will be “Open.” Members may submit ONE print, sized 8”x10” to maximum 11”x14” in size, unmatted, but mounted on any hard backing in order to keep the print nice and flat for display. Prints not conforming to these guidelines will be happily displayed, but not judged. All members will vote on the prints.

-          Finally, for the June Meeting, there will be our Year End Party social. We will have a Pot-Luck Snack, so start to think about what really scrumptious snack you want to bring!

4)      A Reminder: Members are asked to submit images to our Members’ Gallery on Moose Jaw Camera Club web site.

-          -          Images should be Jpg, maximum file size 10 MB.

Thanks Everyone. See you on May 1st!
