Just a couple notes for the upcoming month for the Camera Club:
1. At our November 13th meeting, we will have a Slideshow of members’ pictures. Each member may submit up to FIVE images to share. The theme is “Open,” which can include pictures from the Corn Market Outing or any other subjects you choose. Images are to be put on a USB and handed in to Rob Harden by 6:45 the night of the meeting. If you hand in more than five images, Rob will upload only the first five for the slideshow. You are encouraged to title your images. It is important to learn to choose titles for our images, as if you enter any PRPA or other competition, you must have a title, even if it is, “Untitled.” You should rename your image with its title; eg: “Incoming Thunderstorm-Betty Calvert”; or “Untitled-Betty Calvert.”
2. We also will be having a special Slideshow of the pictures submitted to Rob for the Scavenger Hunt Outing. Rob has prepared a slideshow presentation of submitted images for our viewing.
3. Our Guest Presenter that night will be Sandy Sunderland, on “Getting Creative with Your Camera.” Bring your equipment to this presentation.
4. A reminder that the Russell Competition deadline, for PRPA Individual Members, is November 15th; if you have registered as a PRPA Individual Member, consider submitting some pictures! You received your information for all the competitions from Hilda in the last club email. Our club is the Judging Club for the Russell Competition this year, so your entries must be submitted to Hilda Maier by November 15th at hilarie4@gmail.com
5. The PRPA Everest Competition club finalist entries have been submitted. We had enough entries to require pre-judging, as we can only submit 20 entries from our club. Way to go, members! The list of the chosen entries to be submitted through the club is attached. For those who have an image you submitted that is not on this list, and if you have purchased an Individual PRPA Membership, you may submit those images as an Individual Member by November 15th. You are encouraged to do that! Again, you received the necessary information from Hillary in last month’s email. If you have questions on this, contact hilarie4@gmail.com asap. And a special thank-you to our judges who took the time to volunteer to judge this competition – Kevin Pritchard, Kim Schneider and Vaughn Taylor. 6. Finally, a reminder that Rob Harden is changing out the Camera Club Gallery Display at Carol’s Catering. You are encouraged to have one of your prints displayed in the Gallery. We want to see all members having the opportunity to show your work here! Contact Rob Harden at 4dogs1974@sasktel.net if you wish to have a print hung at Carol’s.
