- This meeting will have our first Critique of the season. The theme is “Nature.” Bring ONE digital image on a USB to hand in to Rob Harden by 6:45 the night of the meeting. We will be using PRPA guidelines which state that, “Subject is restricted to all things that are wild, for example, birds, animals, insects, plants, rocks, fossils, stars, or planets. No sign of man should be evident, for example a road, building, fence, cultivated plant, domestic animal or man himself. A banded wild animal or bird will not disqualify the photograph.” The purpose of the Critiques is to receive feedback and suggestions from fellow photographers to help improve our own photography.
- The Workshop will be dedicated to cell phone photography. Colleen Raes, our Club Cell Phone Guru will be leading the Workshop! It isn’t likely anyone needs this instruction - but bring your cell phone, lol!
- Finally, we will have a Slideshow also dedicated to cell phone photography. Bring a MAXIMUM OF 5 digital images from your cell phone, also to be handed in to Rob by 6:45. Going forward, Rob will download NO MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM from the USB you hand in, so be sure the images you really want us to see are all you submit. (Keep in mind that there will be a Cell Phone Pictures Critique at our March meeting.)
- Important information: When you bring your images from your cell phone – Option 1) If you have an iPhone, you can bring them on your cell phone, prepared to be air dropped to Sheryl Parry’s MacBook. You must have the files ready to drop; there will not be time for everyone to scroll through their Pictures Albums searching for the image(s) they want; come a little earlier if you choose this Option; Sheryl will help you with the drop. Option 2) For either Android or iPhones, Email the pictures from your phone to yourself before you come, then Save/Download them to your computer, and from your computer Send them to your USB which you will bring to the meeting. Be sure to keep your Critique image separate (separate USB or file) from your cell phone images.
- Additional information that will make our Slide Shows more enjoyable: Always rename the file names of your submitted images to include the title of your image first. In this way, we can shuffle our slideshows with a little more variety in the submissions. This is how you should name your file: File name-then your name. Example: Duck on the Water-Betty Calvert
If you do not have a title, name it Untitled, Unnamed, or No Title... Keep in mind that you should start to name your images, as should you wish to enter any PRPA or other competitions, you usually need a title.
2) Guests are always welcome at our Meetings or Outings; they pay a nominal $10 for any first Meeting or Outing; following that, their $10 they paid can be applied as a discount on a Membership Fee.
