March Meeting

Just a reminder of the next Camera Club meeting on March 6th. This meeting we will first have a Critique. Some notes on that:

-          Each member may submit ONE digital image on the theme Abandoned Places to Rob at 6:45 p.m the day of the meeting

-          We will be trying some changes from the last Critique, in order for it to take less time. Also, members will not be required to “judge” the images.

-          There will be three Judges, who will make helpful remarks about the images as they are shown on the screen. Marks will not be awarded, as we want this to be more of a learning experience as opposed to a competition.

-          We hope this will put less pressure on members and truly help us all share and learn from this exercise.

-          So, look up some pictures, or go out and shoot some images, of Abandoned Places for this evening!

Also, at this meeting we will have a Workshop on photographing Oil and Water. Bring your camera equipment and tripod for this activity. It will be great fun participating together in this creative exercise!

Finally, just a reminder of the opportunity to showcase Moose Jaw and Saskatchewan through the Shriners Club:

Cory Kerr would like our members to submit images to him for their upcoming 2025 Convention in Moose Jaw. He wishes to begin to receive images for their website as soon as possible.

Cory is looking for images such as:

Ø  Living skies (showing the beauty of our sky)

Ø  Some wildlife photos (deer, foxes, birds)

Ø  Photos of iconic Moose Jaw (Mac the Moose, Snowbirds, City Hall, Library, etc.)

Ø  Photos of recreation (swimming, pool, Yara Centre, etc)

Ø  Photos of classic vehicles (car shows)

Ø  Landscapes showing off the vast differences in Sask (wheatfields, badlands, grasslands, forests, etc.

Ø  Basically, photos that will wow people and make them say, “I want to go to Saskatchewan and Moose Jaw!”

*** Send jpg images sized 1.0MB to 2.5MB to Cory by this email: kerrc69@icloud.com

If he wants a larger file from you for printing at some point, he will contact you about that.

On the email Subject line, put: Photos2025

For the title of your image, use your name, file name, jpeg. Eg: file name of : Kerr12234.jpg

Be sure to have your full name in the email so Cory can credit you as the photographer.

Looking forward to seeing you all on March 6th!
